Modern World Cup stadiums shine with sustainable water management

Frankfurt, June 24, 2010 – “Ke nako – about time”: Four years after the successful Soccer World Cup in Germany millions of fans world-wide are now watching the tournament in South Africa. For four weeks, the biggest sporting event in the world will keep the public holding its breath. Attention will also be focused on the architecture of the stadium. But what few realize is that behind the fancy facade resides a marvel of technology. Alone the sanitary provisions for ten thousand spectators is a mighty challenge to the technical infrastructure of a modern football arena, as is underscored by the VDMA initiative Blue Responsibility.
